Meaning…

Is not found in the material realm.

Not in dinner, jazz, cocktails or conversations. Meaning is what’s left when everything else is stripped away.

Materialism.

Perhaps the reason our lives stagnate and continue to lack in evolution is because we constantly fall for the same trap decorated differently. We become cursive, elusive to the thought of a serpent pressing his fangs and injecting venom into our temples.

Lost behind the false realities curated by the many psyches that we create. It is then almost innate to become blind and when time stands still, the pill that is needed becomes even harder to swallow. It is far more radical and dangerous to have meaning than to live hemmed in by possession.

Who were you before the world told you what you have? Think about the things you think you need most often. Now imagine your life without it. Who are YOU outside of what you have? And that person, the one at your core who’s tired of being pushed aside for.

Things you forced yourself to buy. People you’re forced to be. Versions of yourself you have to put on to appease those who are your wannabe’s. You’re not sad. You’re just tired.

In the words of Carter. “There’s so much more to life than what we’re afforded sometimes”. Yet we bestow more value to the things we can’t afford most times

Ignoring the fact that we may be surrounded by what means nothing. An abyss. Living in an unexplored world while gathering all the inexplorable things.

Constantly searching endless voids for meaning when we hold it in closed hands. Open them. Unclench your fists. Release the meaning. The purpose.

These are the terms of our existence.
